I focus my career and skills on Microsoft technologies, with an emphasis on Web and Cloud development. I specialize in Azure cloud solutions, DevOps practices, and modern web application development using .NET and C#.

Personal Interests

I’m a native of Utah and enjoy the outdoors: camping, ATV-ing, hiking, hammocking, and barbecuing. I am also a licensed Ham Radio Operator (Call Sign: KD7OIY), practicing the hobby since 2001.

I have earned several certifications from Microsoft. I earned my first certifications in 2013 (Programming in C# and Microsoft Certified Professional). Since 2021 I have earned/renewed several Azure certifications. Certifications are great because they enable one to demonstrate their knowledge. The latest certification I earned had an interesting addition: there was a lab/simulation section of the exam where I had to demonstrate hands-on skills (it was very cool).

Applied Skill Credentials from Microsoft are really cool. To earn the credential, you complete the training material from Microsoft, and then you need to successfully complete a 2-hour lab where you actually create/manage resources in Azure. It is a great resource for building skills and demonstrating abilities.
